Rainforests deforestation
There is no denying the fact that the rainforests are bestowed with many natural resources which help the mankind in many a different ways. The rain forests provide the mankind with different sorts of necessities for life. The early men lived in the rainforests and started their evolution and now when they have become intelligent enough to rule the world they cut down the trees for their own purpose. The cutting of rainforests not only endangers the mankind but also the different species of animals and plants who live in the forests. But it is a bitter truth that most of the rainforest has been destructed by the humans in the near past i.e. from the start of the civilization process.Situation of rainforests The rainforests are burnt and as a result many useful medicinal plants are also lost. The rainforest are the home to the many medicinal plants and so the destruction of the forests leads to the decrease of the medicines for the severe diseases like cancer, AIDS etc. The deforestation has been increasing due to the competition in the timber production and the rise in the civilization. The profits earned from the industries setup by the destruction of the forests might cost the extinction of the mankind from earth and as life is not possible in other planets, so life might end! From a survey conducted by the National geographic society, it is found that earlier 17% of the earth was covered by the rainforests but now the number has decreased to only 6%. It is anticipated that the rainforests would disappear in the next fifty years if the deforestation continues at this rate.
Saving the rainforests The forests must be saved because they are of great importance to the human mankind. They not only protect the human from different natural calamities but also provide shelter to the animals. The cutting down of the forests has affected in the rise of the sea level and there is a danger of the earth lands to be immersed under water. The forest saves the soil from being eroded. Due to the decrease in the forests, the animals have started living in a small territory and those who can’t live in the small territories have started to invade the nearby villages and cause chaos amongst the people. The animals attack the people residing in the nearby villages and destroy their crops, the grains…etc.
Trees are of great importance to the mankind and so deforestation should be stopped at any cost. The half of the forest is already been cut down and so to reside on this earth, people have to stop the illegal cutting of trees. This can be helped by the government by imposing severe punishment to the people who cut the trees for their purpose. The government should not only impose fine but also make provisions for imprisonment. In this way the people would develop a fear of cutting the trees and thus it would result into the checking of deforestation.
