Deforestation Definition
The cutting down of forests or the destruction of the forests is called deforestation. The destruction of forests not only by the human is called deforestation but by the natural forces as well. Human are mainly responsible for the destruction because the destruction caused by the nature is minimal but it is the man who destructs the forests for his own benefits, in order to obtain profits from the resources. But the mankind is making profit by endangering his own life. There are certain most common reasons why the people are risking their existence and cutting the forests is the need of lumber which is in great demand in the market and so by selling these, man can make a huge profit. The industries which prepare paper, rubber etc. requires more amount of trees so that they get the required amount of raw materials. So, let us have a look at the causes that lead to deforestation. We would also focus on why deforestation should be avoided.Causes of deforestation Deforestation is done for the need of cultivable land so that the farmers can cultivate more and more corps and sell in the market and fill their pockets. Moreover, the farmers destroy the trees and convert them into savannas and cattle coarse for grazing their domestic animals. This is a very big mistake that they do which brings imbalance in the environment. The farmers again use the worst and the easiest way of destruction of the forests i.e. by firing the forests so that all the trees are burnt. The destruction of the forests through this process might be very dangerous as the fire might consume the whole of the forest. The other reasons for the forests’ destruction are the building of highways and the skyscrapers. As a result of which the people come closer to the forests and hence it becomes easier for them to do business through the forests. The building of the industry is also one of the reasons for the deforestation. The petroleum industry, mining industry etc. are the main causes of deforestation. Why deforestation should be avoided? The deforestation should be avoided because there has already been a great damage to the flora and fauna and even more damage might result in the extinction of the species. The destruction of the forests might lead to the extinction of life from the earth. As a result life would not be possible in the planet. It has been already known that there has been certain prospect which shows that the life on earth is in danger. The cutting down of the forests has resulted in the rise of temperature. If it is not controlled the ice of the mountains might melt and the sea level of the earth would rise to a drastic level. No life would be possible on the earth. The earth without the forests is impossible to think but if the forests are destroyed at such rate then in the near future earth will be without any forests.
